Second Life: What Is It? (And Why Should Manufacturers Care?)
This "virtual fantasy world" computer game has no dragons or damsels in distress,
and yet is growing exponentially worldwide among the consumer marketplace's most lucrative
demographics. Join IndustryWeek's IT editor Brad Kenney as he does some reconnaisance of
this new interpersonal -- and commercial -- frontier.
At the ASBPE awards ceremony Dave Levinson gave what can only be described as a one of
a kind speech to a thoroughly engaged, if sometimes raucous, crowd. That night he was able,
however, to find a quiet place to talk one on one with IndustryWeek's Brad Kenney for his
forthcoming article about Second Life. Levinson covered everything from the opportunites and
hurdles facing businesses in this new frontier to Cranial Tap's services and their abilitity to
help their clients not only meet the challenges but more importantly thrive in virtual worlds.
